Responding to fire incidents

Uncategorized

How do you feel when seeing a fire accident? What instantly comes to your mind when a small fire eventually turns into a raging inferno?

You cringe in fear, having the thought of losing your loved ones and friends from reality.

You worry, thinking of the possibility of losing the precious belongings you’ve amassed through the years from your hard-earned money.

You never know when a fire will start. It is a danger to all of us even in this day and age.

If you become trapped inside a fire, you’ll panic and feel helpless. But if you notice a fire early enough, there will be more time to get out and extricate yourself to help others.

What is it like to be inside a fire? How hot is it inside a fire?

House fires can reach temperatures up to 1,100 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s equivalent to turning your oven up twice as high as it will go. That’s really hot it will burn you instantly! Keep in mind that extreme temperatures like this force firefighters to crawl just to enter a house on fire.

Based on annual global data, the United States historically had the highest number of fire incidents and residential fires year in, and year out.

European countries like Russia, France, Germany, Italy, Great Britain, Poland, and Ukraine came next to the US.

China ranked fourth worldwide in terms of high fire incidents. Other Asian countries after China include Bangladesh, Japan, Philippines, Vietnam, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Mongolia, Qatar, and Brunei.

In terms of the number of largest fires of the 21st century, Australia had the most and also had the highest recorded number of deaths.

The African continent had the highest death rate caused by fire, accounting for the majority of fire deaths among 183 countries.

These are historical facts that cannot be denied. We can, however, let history not repeat itself in the near future.  We may not totally prevent it but at least we may significantly contain it.
